Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for three Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) to provide full-time support within K-12 schools located in Mobile, AL. The positions focus on working with students in grades K-5, supporting speech and language interventions under the supervision of licensed speech-language pathologists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy services to students in elementary and middle school settings, including itinerant service delivery between multiple schools
- Assist in implementing individualized education program (IEP) goals tailored to students speech and language needs
- Collaborate closely with speech-language pathologists, teachers, and other school personnel to track student progress and adjust support plans accordingly
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school and district regulations
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive learning environment
Qualifications:
- Active registration with the Board of Speech Examiners as an SLPA (Alabama State Department of Education SLPA licenses are for direct hire positions only)
- Experience working with school-aged children in a speech-language support role preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary school team
- Availability for full-time hours, approximately 35 hours per week
